Abstract
Provided is a terminal device that is capable of improving the characteristics of a response signal having poor transmission characteristics when ARQ is utilized in communication using an uplink unit band and a plurality of downlink unit bands associated with the uplink unit band. At the time of channel selection a control unit ( 208) selects a resource used in sending a response signal from among specific PUCCH resources notified in advance from a base station (100) and PUCCH resources mapped to a CCE and controls the transmission of the response signal. A response signal generating unit (212) supports implicit signaling with respect to any given response signal and at the same time as supporting LTE fallback from 2CC uses a mapping method that between bits smooths the number of PUCCH resources that can determine ACK/NACK simply by determining the PUCCH resource regarding which the response signal had notified.

Claim
1. A terminal apparatus comprising:
a receiver which, in operation, receives downlink data transmitted using a first component carrier and a second component carrier;
response signal generating circuitry which, in operation, performs error detection of the downlink data for each of the first component carrier and the second component carrier, and generates a response signal which is a block of bits that indicates a plurality of error detection results of the downlink data;
mapping circuitry which, in operation, maps the response signal, according to a mapping table, to a phase point among a plurality of phase points on an uplink control channel resource (PUCCH resource) selected from a plurality of PUCCH resources, each PUCCH resource having a plurality of phase points, wherein a maximum value of a difference between a number of PUCCH resources where one of the plurality of error detection results indicates ACK only or NACK only on all of the plurality of phase points and a number of PUCCH resources where another one of the plurality of error detection results indicates ACK only or NACK only on all of the plurality of phase points is one or zero according to the mapping table, and wherein a combination of the PUCCH resource and the phase point on which the response signal is mapped when reception of the downlink data on the second component carrier has failed is the same as a combination of the PUCCH resource and the phase point on which the response signal for downlink data transmitted using only the first component carrier is mapped; and
