Abstract
A method of operating a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) and a WTRU configured to receive a radio link control (RLC)/ a medium access control (MAC) header. The header is coded for reduced transmission time interval (RTTI) operation. The header includes a 16-bit cyclic redundancy check (CRC) of an RLC/MAC payload associated with the RLC/MAC header.

Claim
1. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) configured to perform a handover operation between two different wireless communications network architectures comprising: a processor configured to perform a handover procedure from a first network architecture to a second network architecture; a transceiver configured to establish network access to the second network architecture through a wireless connection between the WTRU and the second network architecture; and the processor further configured to release tunnel endpoints and radio resources used in a network connection between the WTRU and the first network architecture.
2. The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein one of the network architectures is a third generation partnership project (3GPP) network architecture.
3. The WTRU of claim 1 wherein one of the network architectures is a non- third generation partnership project (non-3GPP) network architecture.
4. The WTRU of claim 3 , wherein the non-3GPP network architecture is a trusted network.
5. The WTRU of claim 3 wherein the non-3 GPP network architecture is an untrusted network.
6. The WTRU of claim 5, wherein the processor is configured to establish the network connection across a S2b interface.
7. The WTRU of claim 3 wherein the processor is configured to establish the network connection across a S2c interface.
8. The WTRU of claim 1 wherein the handover occurs from a third generation partnership project (3GPP) network to a non-3GPP network.
9. The WTRU of claim 1 wherein the handover occurs from a non-third generation partnership project (non-3GPP) network to a 3GPP network
10. The WTRU of claim 1 wherein the transceiver is further configured to send a resource release acknowledgement message to a packet data network gateway
11. A method of handover of a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) between two different wireless communications network architectures comprising: initiating a handover procedure from a first network architecture to a second network architecture; establishing network access to the second network architecture through a connection between the WTRU and the second network architecture; sending a policy update message to a policy and charging rate function (PCRF); and releasing tunnel endpoints and radio resources used in a network connection between the WTRU and the first network architecture
12. The method of claim 11, wherein one of the network architectures is a third generation partnership project (3GPP) network architecture
13. The method of claim 11 wherein one of the network architectures is a non 3GPP network architecture
14. The method of claim 13, wherein the non-3GPP network architecture is a trusted network
15. The method of claim 13 wherein the non-3GPP network architecture is an untrusted network
16. The method of claim 15, a network connection with the non-3GPP network architecture is established across a S2b interface
17. The method of claim 13 wherein a network connection with the non- 3GPP network architecture is established across a S2c interface
