A Contention Based (CB) resource configuration method is disclosed. The method includes: a network device makes the configuration that one or more first objects can use the CB resources wherein said one or more first objects are proper subsets of all of the first objects; the network device sends a first CB resource information said first CB resource information is used to indicate that above-mentioned one or more first objects can use the CB resources. The embodiments of the invention also provide a method for using the CB resources a network equipment and user equipment thereof and can be applied to the cases of relay and discontinuous reception. Above-mentioned solutions can reduce the probability of conflict when uplink transmission using CB resources is performed also can save energy of user equipments and reduce implementation complexity of user equipments.
