Abstract
The embodiments of the present invention provide a random access method, a network device, and a terminal device, which are used for the network device to control a random access behavior of a terminal according to the implementation situation of the network device, so as to make the behavior of the terminal device satisfy an actual situation of a network side. The embodiments of the present invention comprise: a terminal device receiving indication information sent by a network device, the indication information being used for indicating whether the terminal device performs timing advance (TA) compensation; and according to the indication information, the terminal device determining a TA compensation result, and sending a random access request to the network device by means of the TA compensation result.
