Abstract  Abstract

A method and apparatus for transferring in an evolved universal terrestrial radio access network (E-UTRAN) are disclosed. A wireless transmission / reception unit (WTRU) sends a measurement report to an originating evolved Node B (eNB) and receives a transfer order from the originating eNB. The WTRU initiates the reception and processing of a primary broadcast channel (P-BCH) in the target cell after receiving the transfer order. The WTRU then sends a random access preamble to the target eNB, receives a random access response from the target eNB and sends a complete transfer message to the target eNB. The reception and processing of the P-BCH can be initiated immediately after receiving the transfer order or after sending the complete transfer message. The WTRU may apply a default configuration or a configuration of the source cell in the target cell until an SFN of the target cell and / or P-BCH information is acquired.
