Abstract  Abstract

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR REPASSING BETWEEN AN ASYNCRONA BASE STATION AND A CDMA BASE STATION, SYNCRONA. A method and system are described that allow for faster capture of the call signal sent from a target base station in a mixed network of synchronous and asynchronous base stations. The server base station transmits an estimated timing error (417) between a server base station and a target base station in a neighboring list. By using the timing information, a mobile station estimates the relative timing offset (408) between the outgoing link signals received from the server base station and signals received from the target base station. The timing information captured during the transfer allows accurate updating of the estimated timing error (417) subsequently transmitted in the neighboring listings by the base stations.
