Abstract
Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate indicating feedback parameters for multiple single carrier assignments multicarrier assignments and/or the like according to single carrier-frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) relaxed SC-FDMA etc. Feedback in relaxed SC-FDMA can be bundled by a mobile device to conserve power. In addition a downlink assignment indicator (DAI) can be utilized to detect and indicate lost grants.

Claim
1. A method, comprising:receiving a plurality of downlink resource grants related to a respective plurality of carriers for data transmission;determining whether to use bundled or non-bundled hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for providing HARQ feedback related to the plurality of downlink resource grants; and transmitting, in the case of bundled HARQ feedback, an acknowledgment (ACK) HARQ feedback parameter in a HARQ feedback resource associated with a respective one of the plurality of carriers corresponding to a last-received downlink resource grant for which all previous downlink resource grants of the plurality of downlink resource grants were also received, to indicate that the last-received downlink resource grant and all previous downlink resource grants of the plurality of downlink resource grants were successfully received, and not transmitting any other ACKs corresponding to the received previous downlink resource grants of the plurality of downlink resource grants.
2. The method of claim 1, wherein the determining whether or not to use bundled HARQ feedback is based on the presence or absence of a transmission power constraint.
3. The method of claim 2, wherein the transmitting further comprises not transmitting, subsequent to the ACK, HARQ feedback for any of the plurality of downlink resource grants.
4. The method of claim 1, further comprising:obtaining a sequence number for at least one of the plurality of downlink resource grants or a total number of the plurality of downlink resource grants based at least in part on a related downlink assignment index (DAI); and determining one or more lost downlink resource grants based at least in part on the sequence number or the total number of the plurality of downlink resource grants.
5. The method of claim 4, wherein the obtaining the sequence number for at least one of the plurality of downlink resource grants or the total number of the plurality of downlink resource grants further includes determining the sequence number or the total number of the plurality of downlink resource grants based at least in part on a mapping or a function using the related DAI.
6. The method of claim 1, further comprising obtaining an index indicating a number of downlink resource grants provided by an access point, wherein the determining one or more lost downlink resource grants is further based at least in part on the index.
7. The method of claim 1, wherein the receiving the plurality of downlink resource grants includes receiving the plurality of downlink resource grants related to the plurality of carriers that vary over a plurality of subframes.
8. A wireless communications apparatus, comprising: at least one processor configured to:obtain a plurality of downlink resource grants related to a respective plurality of carriers for data transmission;determine whether to use bundled or non-bundled hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for providing HARQ feedback related to the plurality of downlink resource grants; and transmit, in the case of bundled HARQ feedback, an acknowledgment (ACK) HARQ feedback parameter in a HARQ feedback resource associated with a respective one of the plurality of carriers corresponding to a last-received downlink resource grant for which all previous downlink resource grants of the plurality of downlink resource grants were received, to indicate that the last-received downlink resource grant and all previous downlink resource grants of the plurality of downlink resource grants were successfully received, and to not transmit any other ACKs corresponding to the received previous downlink resource grants of the plurality of downlink resource grants; and a memory coupled to the at least one processor.
9. The wireless communications apparatus of claim 8, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to determine whether to use bundle or non-bundled HARQ feedback based at least in part on the presence or absence of a transmission power constraint
10. The wireless communications apparatus of claim 8, wherein the at least one processor is further configured not to transmit, subsequent to the ACK, HARQ feedback for any of the plurality of downlink resource grants
11. The wireless communications apparatus of claim 8, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:receive a sequence number for at least one of the plurality of downlink resource grants based at least in part on a related downlink assignment index; and detect one or more lost downlink resource grants based at least in part on the sequence number
12. An apparatus, comprising:means for receiving a plurality of downlink resource grants related to a respective plurality of carriers for data transmission;means for determining whether to use bundled or non-bundled hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for providing HARQ feedback related to the plurality of downlink resource grants; and means for transmitting, in the case of bundled HARQ feedback, an acknowledgment (ACK) HARQ feedback parameter in a HARQ feedback resource associated with a respective one of the plurality of carriers corresponding to a last-received downlink resource grant for which all previous downlink resource grants of the plurality of downlink resource grants were also received, to indicate that the last-received downlink resource grant and all previous downlink resource grants of the plurality of downlink resource grants were successfully received, and not transmitting any other ACKs corresponding to the received previous downlink resource grants of the plurality of downlink resource grants
13. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the means for determining is configured to determine whether to use bundled or non-bundled HARQ feedback based at least in part on a transmission power constraint
14. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the means for transmitting is further configured not to transmit, subsequent to the ACK, HARQ feedback for any of the plurality of downlink resource grants
15. The apparatus of claim 12, further comprising means for determining one or more lost downlink resource grants based at least in part on a sequence number obtained from a downlink assignment index related to one or more of the plurality of downlink resource grants
16. A computer program product, comprising: a computer-readable medium comprising:code for causing at least one computer to obtain a plurality of downlink resource grants related to a respective plurality of carriers for data transmission;code for causing the at least one computer to determine whether to use bundled or non-bundled hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for providing HARQ feedback related to the plurality of downlink resource grants; and code for causing the at least one computer to transmit, in the case of bundled HARQ feedback, an acknowledgment (ACK) HARQ feedback parameter in a HARQ feedback resource associated with a respective one of the plurality of carriers corresponding to a last-received downlink resource grant for which all previous downlink resource grants of the plurality of downlink resource grants were received, to indicate that the last-received downlink resource grant and all previous downlink resource grants of the plurality of downlink resource grants were successfully received, and to not transmit any other ACKs corresponding to the received previous downlink resource grants of the plurality of downlink resource grants
17. The computer program product of claim 16, wherein the computer-readable medium further comprises code for causing the at least one computer to determine whether to use bundle or non-bundled HARQ feedback based at least in part on the presence or absence of a transmission power constraint
18. The computer program product of claim 16, wherein the computer-readable medium further comprises code for causing the at least one computer not to transmit, subsequent to the ACK, HARQ feedback for any of the plurality of downlink resource grants
19. The computer program product of claim 16, wherein the computer-readable medium further comprises:code for causing the at least one computer to receive a sequence number for at least one of the plurality of downlink resource grants based at least in part on a related downlink assignment index; and code for causing the at least one computer to detect one or more lost downlink resource grants based at least in part on the sequence number.
20. An apparatus, comprising:a downlink grant receiving component that obtains a plurality of downlink resource grants related to a respective plurality of carriers for data transmission; a hybrid automatic repeat/request (HARQ) format selecting component that determines whether to use bundled or non-bundled HARQ feedback for providing HARQ feedback related to the plurality of downlink resource grants; and a HARQ indicating component that transmits, in the case of bundled HARQ feedback, an acknowledgment (ACK) HARQ feedback parameter in a HARQ feedback resource associated with a respective one of the plurality of carriers corresponding to a last-received downlink resource grant for which all previous downlink resource grants of the plurality of downlink resource grants were received, to indicate that the last-received downlink resource grant and all previous downlink resource grants of the plurality of downlink resource grants were successfully received, and that does not transmit any other ACKs corresponding to the received previous downlink resource grants of the plurality of downlink resource.
21. The apparatus of claim 20, wherein the HARQ feedback format selecting component is further configured to determine whether to use bundled or non-bundled HARQ feedback based at least in part on the presence or absence of a transmission power constraint.
22. The apparatus of claim 20, wherein the HARQ feedback indicating component is further configured not to transmit, subsequent to the ACK, HARQ feedback for any of the plurality of downlink resource grants.
23. The apparatus of claim 20, further comprising a lost grant determining component that detects one or more lost downlink resource grants based at least in part on a sequence number obtained from a downlink assignment index related to one or more of the plurality of downlink resource grants.']
