Abstract
Aspects of the present disclosure provide a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) resource that specifies Resource Elements (REs) on which CSI-RS may be transmitted and a set of ports at a base station from which the CSI-RS may be transmitted. Within the set of ports for a particular CSI-RS resource, one or more port groups may be further configured. Each port group identifies a group of ports associated with a channel. In some examples, the port group identifies the ports on which CSI may be measured. Other ports within the set of ports other than the port group may be utilized for interference measurements.
