Abstract
The invention claims a method for providing location service for wireless local area network user pre-positioning sub-system in a wireless local area network (WLAN) the WLAN subscriber access to third generation network (3G) the method at least comprising: after receiving 3G in the location service (LCS) client of the location request to the WLAN location subsystem to locate the target WLAN user equipment (UE) according to the locating request and returning the positioning result to the mobile positioning centre gateway (GMLC); the GMLC sends the location result to the LCS client. The method of the invention can make the LCS client through the 3G network using the LCS service communicating with the 3G network in WLAN network.
