Abstract  Abstract

The invention claims a novel method and device using different types of wireless interface of the radio access network (RAN) performs a seamless handoff of mobile station (MS). The described embodiments make the MS handover without causing routing ambiguity between different RAN and without substantial loss of network data. a re-registration from the coverage area of a first RAN of the first wireless interface to the coverage area of a second RAN of second wireless interface an MS determines whether routing ambiguity will be generated from the change of RAN and triggers its network address in accordance with the determination. the packet data service node (PDSN) in monitoring network address of the foreign agent (FA) re-registration is created for the same MS. according to the decision the PDSN terminates the MS movement between different RAN redundant R-P network generated by the joint.
