Abstract  Abstract

The invention claims a method for scheduling HSDPA 3 GPP TDD communication the base station (122) and remote station (118) and system (100). allocating resources to the remote station from the base station for receiving channel quality information from a remote station. the resources allocated to the remote station contains no higher layer data. The scheduler in the base station using the channel quality information to schedule remote stations and/or judging the channel coding and/or modulation applied to data transmission. providing a data transmission on the HS-DSCH is not transmitted to the mechanism of higher layer. This may provide for obtaining an improved scheduling to improve the channel quality information of the convenient method of performance of the communication system.

A method base station (122) remote station (118) and system (100) for scheduling HSDPA 3GPP TDD communication. The base station allocates resource to remote stations in order to receive channel quality information back from the remote stations. The resource allocated to a remote station contains no higher layer data. A scheduler in the base station uses the channel quality information in order to schedule remote stations and/or to decide on the channel coding and/or modulation to be applied to the data transmission. A mechanism is provided to ensure that data transmitted on HS-DSCH is not transmitted to higher layers. This may provide a convenient method of obtaining channel quality information allowing for improved scheduling and thus improved performance of the communication system.
