A method for informing the network side about the amount of data to be transferred by means of data blocks in a wireless communication system comprising at least one mobile station and a network, the method comprising: the assignment of a first carrier of the wireless upload link for a connection between the mobile station and the network, the first bearer being assigned for the transfer of user data; the establishment of a first temporary block flow, TBF (for Temporary Block Flow), for the first bearer for the transfer of data blocks; the assignment of at least a second bearer of the wireless upload link for a connection between the mobile station and the network, the second bearer being a bearer using the first TBF for the transfer of data blocks; the addition to each block of data transmitted on the first TBF of a countdown value indicating at least the amount of data waiting for transmission on the corresponding bearer.
