Abstract  Abstract

When an uplink signaling radio bearer steals capacity from a user bearer, the network should be informed of at least the amount of data to be transmitted for the TBF established for that user bearer. This is accomplished by using a separate countdown value for each radio bearer and using a first countdown value for the bearer for which TBF is set up and a second countdown value representing the total amount of data on the still bearer, ie using the TBF. This can be accomplished by calculating a common countdown value that represents the total amount of data in all bearers.
