Abstract  Abstract

A method for uplink synchronization of a first transceiver and a second transceiver in a multi-user cellular communication system where the communication resources are divided into communication channels, characterized in that the method comprises the steps of: reception , by the first transceiver, of a signal comprising a first sequence of signatures transmittals of the second transceiver, wherein said first sequence of signatures is selected from a first set of signature sequences, the first sequence of signatures being, at least in part, a sequence from a set of sequences of zero correlation zones and in the first transceiver, the correlation of the received signal with at least one sequence of signatures from a second set of signature sequences for the estimation of the arrival time of said first sequence of signatures to synchronize the transmission between the second transceiver and the first transceiver.
