Abstract
A method and apparatus for creating a vendor and version independent information model that can be used by a cellular telephone base station to communicate its capabilities to network elements in a plug and play manner. I will provide a. The information model is also used to return configuration information from a network element to a base station. The capability and configuration information is automatically communicated and utilized, thereby reducing human operator errors in the configuration and reconfiguration of new or changed base station equipment.
