Abstract  Abstract

A new uplink control channel capability is introduced that allows the mobile terminal to report multiple packet reception status bits and channel status bits simultaneously. In an exemplary embodiment implemented in a mobile terminal, the mobile terminal first receives channel state information and hybrid ARQ ACK / NACK corresponding to multiple downlink subframes and / or multiple downlink carriers. It is determined whether transmission with the bit is scheduled in the uplink subframe (1310). Next, the mobile terminal determines whether the number of ACK / NACK bits of hybrid ARQ is equal to or less than a threshold (1320). If yes, the mobile terminal transmits both channel state information and hybrid ARQ ACK / NACK bits (1330) on the physical control channel resource of the first uplink subframe of a single subcarrier. In some embodiments, the number of ACK / NACK bits for hybrid ARQ considered in the techniques summarized above represents the number of ACK / NACK bits after bundling ACK / NACK.
