Abstract
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for reducing delay due to beam alignment in a beamforming-based wireless communication system. At this time, a method for selecting a beam pattern in the base station includes a process of confirming whether or not the direction detection signal can be received through each time interval of the direction detection channel, and reception of the direction detection signal for each time interval of the direction detection channel. A process of transmitting permission information, a process of receiving an arbitrary access signal transmitted through at least one transmission beam pattern while changing a received beam pattern through the arbitrary access channel, and the arbitrary access signal. A process of selecting any one of the transmission beam patterns of the mobile station and any one of the reception beam patterns of the base station in consideration.
