Abstract
The method includes receiving a set of downlink beam specific reference signals (BRS) from network nodes and determining a preferred BRS based on the received signal power for each BRS. The method also selects a random access resource that is used to send a random access attempt to the network node based on the preferred BRS and is selected when sending the random access attempt to the network node. Use random access resources. Here, selecting the random access resource indicates to the network node which downlink beam is preferred for the wireless device to be used for downlink transmission.
