Abstract  Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device which guarantee that temporal separation of adjacent bits in a frame causes no trouble in a multicode transmission device.

SOLUTION: The method and device for interleaving a stream (201) of data consisting of digital information symbols before transmission through a radio interface are provided. The stream of the digital data is rearranged (202 203 401 and 402) to generate a stream (204) having the digital data rearranged. At least two component streams (404) are given from the rearranged stream of the digital data to map respective component streams into spread codes (406). In at least one component stream the order of information symbols is reversed before the component stream is mapped into spread codes.
