Abstract  Abstract

A method for synchronizing a base station to a mobile station includes transmitting a signal sequence K(i) of length n from the base station to the mobile station. The signal sequence K(i) is formed by repeating a second signal sequence element K 2 (k) of length n 2 n 1 times. The second signal sequence is modulated with a first signal sequence element K 1 (j) of length n 1 . In the method, n 1 is equal to n 2 and i, j and k are integers.
