Abstract  Abstract

(57) (Summary) The present invention improves the listening channel of a broadcast channel of a base station (BTS1 to BTS3) of a wireless system in which a transceiver unit is divided into channels on the principle of time division multiple access / frequency division multiple access. Regarding the method, the base station (BTS1 to BTS3) has means for connecting the radio to the radio units (MS1, MS2) in the coverage area of the radio communication and means for transmitting the broadcast channel, and the present system is the same. It comprises at least two base stations (BTS1 to BTS3) arranged to transmit a broadcast channel by utilizing a predetermined frequency (F1). In order to reduce mutual interference, the transmission power of the predetermined frequency channel (F1) of the base station is adjusted to be lower in the time slot in which the broadcast channel is not transmitted than in the time slot in which the broadcast channel is transmitted. . The invention also relates to a cellular radio system.
