PROTOCOL DATA UNIT GENERATING METHOD OF SPLIT MODE

Abstract

The present invention relates to the next-generation mobile communication, in particular, a split mode protocol in which a protocol data unit is divided into a part including a fixed length sequence number and a part including a variable length data in a radio link control layer and transmitted to a lower layer. A data unit generation method is provided. In generating a protocol data unit from at least one service data unit transmitted from an upper layer in the radio link control layer according to the present invention, splitting or connecting the at least one service data unit to generate a payload unit; Generating a protocol data unit including a sequence number corresponding to the payload unit, a protocol data unit including the payload unit, and attaching respective radio link control headers to the generated protocol data units Sending to the access layer. Therefore, since the error probability of the sequence number protocol data unit is lowered and the sequence number of the data is known in advance at the receiving end, the size of the receiving buffer can be reduced, and error control and flow control can be more smoothly performed.
