Abstract  Abstract

PURPOSE: A protocol data unit generating method of a split mode is provided to reduce an error probability by transmitting the most important sequence number of a protocol data unit through a different channel from other channel transmitting other portion by transmitting a radio link control protocol data unit by using a split mode. CONSTITUTION: In order to generate a protocol data unit from at least more than one service data unit transmitted from an upper layer in a radio link control layer, a payload unit is generated by splitting or connecting at least more than one service data unit, a protocol data unit including a sequence number corresponding to the payload unit and a protocol data unit including the payload unit are generated, and a radio link control header is attached to each of the generated protocol data units and transmitted to a medium access control layer. If the radio link control is set up in a non-recognizing mode, the protocol data unit including the sequence number includes a sequence number field and an extension field. If the radio link control is set up in a recognizing mode, the protocol data unit includes a data/control field, a polling field and an extensive header field besides the sequence number field and the extension field.
