Abstract  Abstract

A plurality of features characterized by a first parameter comprising at least an indicator of the self-decodability of the corresponding packet and a second parameter comprising a selection of a particular redundancy version from the plurality of candidate redundancy versions. A high speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) communication system method is provided that supports redundancy variation of a system. According to a preferred approach, if it is determined that it is necessary to transmit extra information corresponding to a given packet (13), for at least one of the first and second parameters, a specific value is automatically selected from a plurality of candidate values. And use this particular value to send extra information.
