Abstract  Abstract

Techniques for reporting acknowledgment (ACK) information and channel quality indication (CQI) information in a wireless communication system are described. The user equipment (UE) may receive data from up to two cells via dual-cell operation. The UE may determine CQI information for the first cell, determine CQI information for the second cell, and send CQI information for both cells on a feedback channel using a single channelization code. The UE may process the control channel from each cell and may further process the data channel from the cell to receive data sent to the UE once control information is received from the cell. The UE may determine ACK information for each cell based on the processing results for the data channel and control channel from the cell. The UE may send ACK information for both cells on the feedback channel using a single channelization code.
