Abstract  Abstract

A method is proposed for adapting resource allocation parameters to reach one or more quality targets with improved accuracy. Preferably at the block level a new information measure is introduced based on so-called mutual information. MI-based information measurement of the previous transmission, channel prediction of the next transmission, and one or more quality requirements are used to determine the amount and type of resource, eg, time, frequency and power resources used for the next transmission. Resource allocation may include, for example, power allocation and / or link adaptation and the present invention may be usefully implemented with cooperative link adaptation and power allocation. The proposed method is useful for ARQ / HARQ retransmission.

Power allocation, link adaptation, resource allocation parameters, receiver, channel prediction
