Abstract

The present invention relates to a wireless communication system and its idle state operation method, which includes a base station transmitting a forward channel according to a discontinuous period when entering an idle state, and a terminal acquiring information on a forward channel upon receiving a forward channel And a base station for transmitting a downlink channel according to a first channel transmission period in a preset first period duration when the mobile station enters an idle state, A method of operating an idle state of a base station in a wireless communication system that transmits a forward channel according to a second channel transmission period different from the first channel transmission period in a two-period duration is provided. According to the present invention, since the base stations transmit the forward channel in the wireless communication system discontinuously, interference of the forward channel between the base stations can be suppressed.
