Abstract  Abstract

PURPOSE: A finger for weighting with a chip rate in a smart antenna system and a modulating device and a method using the same are provided to weight traffic channels by using optimum weighting information calculated from receiving signals of a reverse pilot channel so as to enable tracking by users and high-speed wide-band communication. CONSTITUTION: A descrambler(110) descrambles an inputted baseband receiving signal using frame timing information. A pilot signal providing unit receives an output signal from the descrambler(110) to generate and output a pilot signal for compensating delayed phase. The first pilot providing unit(120) receives the output signal from the descrambler(110) to operate and output a pilot signal to be used as an input signal when calculating weight vector. A beamformer(130) receives the descrambled signal and the pilot signal from the first pilot providing unit(120) to calculate and output the weight vector. A general weighting block(140) outputs a signal compensating phase delay of the receiving signal using the weight vector that is called a general weighted signal. The second pilot providing unit(150) operates the general weighted signal and a PN(Pseudo Noise) code to output a phase compensation signal for compensating phase delay by channels. A Walsh despreading unit(160) obtains a descrambled signal using the general weighted signal and the PN code and operates an obtained result signal and a Walsh code to output signals in which transfer rates are despreaded correspondingly to code length. And a channel compensation unit(170) compensates delayed channels for signals corresponding to channels outputted from the Walsh despreading unit(160) by using the phase compensation signal inputted from the second pilot providing unit(150).
