Abstract  Abstract

PURPOSE: A method and a device for transmitting control information of an uplink dedicated transmit channel in an asynchronous WCDMA system are provided to map transmit block sizes of packet data, modulation methods, and combinations of spread indexes one to one, and to transmit control information including the transmit block sizes only to a base station, thereby reducing a signaling overhead. CONSTITUTION: A terminal decides whether a maximum physical channel data bit is bigger than or equal to a maximum punched transmit channel data bit(601). If so, the terminal determines a modulation format of an E-DCH(Enhanced Uplink Dedicated Channel) as a BPSK method(602). The terminal sets a set 1 to a combination of physical channel data bits having a bigger value than a transmit channel data bit which is not punched(606). The terminal decides whether the set 1 is empty(609). If not, the terminal determines an SF(Spreading Factor) corresponding to a minimum physical channel data bit size as for spreading E-DCH data(610).
