Abstract  Abstract

Separately from individual channel signal formation units (101-1 to 101-N), there is provided a channel signal formation unit for control information (110), which forms control information for carrying out upstream packet transmission. The channel signal formation unit for control information (110) includes a channel encode section (111) for multiplexing control information (RG information, ACK/NACK, etc.) destined to a plurality of communication terminals by using a multiplexing rule predetermined between each communication terminal and a spread section (113) for spreading the control information by using a spread code common to the communication terminals, thereby forming a channel signal for control information for upstream packet transmission.
