Abstract
The present invention provides a method for resetting an optimized AM RLC in a Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) system. In the method of resetting AM RLC according to the present invention, before determining whether the RSN (Reset Sequence Number) value is the same, the reset PDU received now is the first received after the establishment (connection or reconnection) of the RLC entity. Therefore, the present invention is directed to determining whether a reset PDU is performed first, so that only one RLC ACK PDU is transmitted to the transmitting side. The RESET ACK PDU is delivered to the transmitting side, thereby eliminating the communication disconnection caused by setting different RLC environment variables.
