Abstract  Abstract

A method for allocating a physical hybrid ARQ(Automatic Request) indicator channel is provided to maintain a transmission structure irrespective of a spreading factor by allocating efficiently resources for physical hybrid ARQ indicator channel transmission. A physical hybrid ARQ indicator channel group allocation process is performed to allocate a physical hybrid ARQ indicator channel group according to a cyclic prefix type by considering a ratio of physical hybrid ARQ indicator channel groups according to a spreading factor. A physical hybrid ARQ indicator channel including a reception confirmation signal is allocated to the allocated physical hybrid ARQ indicator channel group. In the allocation process, the number of the physical hybrid ARQ indicator channel groups in the extended cyclic prefix is a double of the number of the physical hybrid ARQ indicator channel groups in the normal cyclic prefix.
