Abstract  Abstract

The multi-point HSDPA system provides switching-based scheduling from one of the cells based on the channel conditions of each cell, as reported by the UE, thereby providing multiple for a single receive antenna UE without requiring an Advanced Type 3i receiver. It can provide downlink aggregation from the cells of. For example, the UE can monitor the HS-SCCH from both cells to be able to decode the HS-DSCH at any particular TTI when data is scheduled. The UE may further transmit a CQI for each of the cells such that scheduling decisions between cells in each TTI may be dynamically performed to provide a downlink packet from a better one of the cells.
