Abstract  Abstract

A method and apparatus for interworking between a mobile network operator and an application provider is disclosed. The Network Application Function (NAF) may coexist with the OpenID provider so that the application server can communicate with the NAF to access the Home Subscriber Server (HSS) via the Bootstrapping Server Function (BSF). The interface between the BSF and the HSS, and between the BSF and the NAF, can be enhanced to carry available information through the Sh interface between the application server and the HSS. When the WTRU roams in the visited network, the application server may communicate with the visited network for charging and policing for serving requests from the WTRU. The application server can coexist with the NAF, authenticate the WTRU using a generic bootstrapping architecture, and communicate with the BSF of the home network via the eZn-proxy function to access the HSS.
