This disclosure describes techniques for signaling of mode of intra-prediction for coding of video. In one example one of video encoder is configured for determining for one block of data of video one set of modes of intra-prediction most probable of form such that the set of modes of intra-prediction most likely has one size which is equal to one predetermined number that is greater than or equal to that two. The encoder of video also is configured for encoding one value representative of one mode of actual intra prediction for the block with base to the less in part in the set of modes of most probable intra prediction and encoding the block using the mode of intra-prediction. The encoder of video may also be configured for encoding the block using the mode of intra-prediction real e.g. for encrypting or decrypting the block. The cifradores of video and descifradores of video may implement these techniques.

This disclosure describes techniques for intra-prediction mode signaling for video coding. In one example a video coder is configured to determine for a block of video data a set of most probable intra-prediction modes such that the set of most probable intraprediction modes has a size that is equal to a predetermined number that is greater than or equal to two. The video coder is also configured to code a value representative of an actual intra-prediction mode for the block based at least in part on the set of most probable intraprediction modes and code the block using the actual intra-prediction mode. The video coder may further be configured to code the block using the actual intra-prediction mode e.g. to encode or decode the block. Video encoders and video decoders may implement these techniques.
