Abstract  Abstract

A radio communication system comprising a transmission device capable of both transmitting data in a first frequency band and transmitting data in a second frequency band, and a receiving device that communicates with the transmission device, wherein: the transmission device includes a transmitter that transmits a signal, which should be used by the receiving device to measure the quality of communication in the third frequency band in a given part of the first time period, and transmits a signal in the fourth frequency band in a given part of the second time period after the first time period, while the third frequency band includes the second frequency range and does not include the first frequency range, the fourth frequency range includes the first frequency range and does not include the second frequency range, and the receiving device includes a receiver that receives a signal that is transmitted from the transmission device in the third frequency range in a given part of the first a period of time, and a signal that is transmitted from the transmission device in a fourth frequency band in a predetermined portion of the second time period, wherein the first frequency band is used to transmit data in a predetermined portion of the first time period, and the second frequency band is used to transmit data in a predetermined portion of the second period time.
