Abstract  Abstract

variable packet lengths for high packet data rate communications. method and equipment for the generation of physical layer (pl) packet of variable length. multiple security layer (sl) packets can be multiplexed into a single sl packet for increased efficiency, where sl packets can be of varying lengths. In one embodiment, SL packages of different formats for different users are combined into capsules that form the pl package. Shorter packages are for users with poor channel conditions or who require smaller amounts of data due to applications and quality of service (QOS) requirements. In one embodiment, a modified preamble structure provides unicast or multiuser packages. The alternate mode provides modified rate sets, a mechanism for identifying ack from a single user packet or a multiplexed (delayed ack) packet. the on / off switch for ack x channel the bipolar switch used on is-856, and / or multiple drc value interpretation.
