Abstract  Abstract

An embodiment of a synthesis filterbank for filtering a plurality of input frames each input frame comprising ordered input values comprises: an inverse type-IV discrete cosine transform frequency-to-time converter configured to provide a plurality of output frames; a windower configured to generate a plurality of windowed frames each including a plurality of windowed samples; an overlap/adder configured to provide an intermediate frame comprising a plurality of intermediate samples; and a lifter configured to provide an added frame comprising a plurality of added samples. The synthesis filterbank is used in audio encoding audio decoding or other audio transmission-related applications and designed to provide a suitable transmission bandwidth and quality level for applications such as conferencing.
