The invention claims techniques for using multiple dictionaries to transmit the information of method and device. for a wireless terminal to implement a plurality of request dictionaries for multi-bit uplink transmission via a dedicated control channel transmission backlog request report. Each dictionary for a multi-bit uplink transmission backlog request report set (e.g. 3 uplink request report and a 4 uplink request report) to define a different bit mapping interpretation. the plurality of request dictionaries includes a default dictionary and additional dictionary. implementing a plurality of alternative request dictionaries expands the using fully suitable for its current needs reporting format reporting possibilities allowing wireless terminal. the default dictionary is forced under the certain pre-defined conditions (e.g. in the active state).
