Abstract  Abstract

Disclosed is a base station in a wireless communication system in which each user terminal uses a frequency in a different data transmission band assigned by the base station to transmit a data signal to the base station and time-multiplexes a pilot signal with the data signal to transmit the pilot signal to the base station. A resource management unit in the base station offsets part of frequency band of the entire data transmission band on a per each user terminal basis and determines a pilot transmission band of a user terminal so that the pilot transmission band of the user terminal covers the data transmission band of the user terminal. The resource management unit then instructs the user terminal to transmit the pilot signal using a frequency in the determined pilot transmission band.

The invention claims a wireless communication method a base station and a user terminal. The base station is used in a wireless communication system; in the wireless communication system each user terminal transmits a data signal to a base station using different data transmission band frequencies that are assigned by a base station performs time-division multiplexing of a pilot signal with the data signal and transmits the resulting signal to the base station; the resource management unit of the base station performs offset of some of the total data transmission bands to determine the pilot transmission band for each user terminal so that the pilot transmission band covers the data transmission band for each user terminal and instructs the user terminal to transmit pilot signals using the determined pilot transmission band frequencies.
