The method for processing a data unit transmitted from the sending node to the receiving node through said simplified radio link state information of the receiving node. A plurality of data unit receiving node establishes (401) the sending node has been transmitted is deleted. Receiving node through said simplified radio link to the sending node sends (402) a reduced status message the message is reduced such that it comprises the negative acknowledgement for the first part of the missing data units and omits negative acknowledgement for the rest of the missing data units. For negative acknowledgement is omitted and the rest part of the missing data units it will not be sending node erroneously interpreted as correctly received data unit.
