Abstract  Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for handling status information of RLC data protocol data units (PDU) transmitted from a peer acknowledgment mode (AM) radio link control (RLC) entity to an AMRLC entity over a radio link.

SOLUTION: RLC data PDU have their respective sequence numbers (SN). An AMRLC entity establishes (401) that a large number of data PDU that were transmitted by a peer AMRLC entity are missing generates a status PDU that includes a negative acknowledgment to a first part of the missing RLC data PDU omits negative acknowledgments to the rest of the missing RLC data PDU and has an ACK_SN field in which SN of a first part of the missing RLC data PDU to which the negative acknowledgment are omitted is set and transmits (402) the generated status PDU to the peer AMRLC entity.
