Abstract  Abstract

The invention claims a signal strength weightings in a SDMA sectorized improved application in a cellular network. from the new codebook sub set improved selection from a larger codebook of weighting or by sub weighting are selected for improved signal strength weightings application. In a further embodiment an antenna beam index or bit map can be used to select the best beam in a SDMA sectorized cellular network (s). In another embodiment an uplink or downlink transmission field or factor in the packet can designate which directional transmission beam is best suited for the transmission or should activate the directional transmission beam.
