Abstract  Abstract

An apparatus for transmitting a plurality of channels using a multi-frequency radiofrequency processing by code difference, the apparatus comprising: a code generator for generating a set of orthogonal codes; first signal processing means for modulating a first set of channels ( 90) using the set of orthogonal codes to produce a first set of modulated channels that are orthogonal to each other in a first modulation path; and second signal processing means for modulating a second set of channels (92) using the set of orthogonal codes to produce a second set of modulated channels that are mutually integral with each other in a second modulation path; wherein said first demodulation path is modulated in a first carrier and said second modulation path is modulated in a second carrier that is orthogonal to said first carrier; wherein the second means are arranged to use codes of different length between the set of orthogonal codes to modulate the channels of the second set of channels (92), in which the length of the codes used for high-speed channels in the second set of channels is shorter than the length of the codes used for medium speed channels in the second set of channels, while maintaining the orthogonality of the channel in the second set of modulated channels (92) eliminating, based on the length of the codes used for channels High-speed, a number of codes from the set of orthogonal codes available to modulate medium-speed channels in the second set of channels.
