The invention relates to a method of coding a digital signal, comprising the steps of coding (E601) a previous frame of samples of the digital signal according to a predictive coding, coding (E603) of a current frame samples of the digital signal according to transform coding. The method is such that a first portion of the current frame is further encoded (E602) by a predictive coding restricted with respect to the predictive coding of the previous frame. The invention also relates to a decoding method corresponding to the coding method described. It relates to an encoder and a decoder respectively implementing the encoding and decoding methods described.
