Abstract
The present invention includes a step of encoding a preceding frame of a digital signal sample by a predictive encoding process (E601), and a step of encoding a current frame of a digital signal sample by a transform encoding process (E603). And a method for encoding a digital signal. The method re-uses at least one parameter of the predictive encoding of the preceding frame and encodes only the parameter of the first portion of the current frame that is not reused. It is implemented such that the first part of the current frame is also encoded (E602) by predictive coding limited to predictive coding. The invention also relates to a decoding method corresponding to the described encoding method. Furthermore, the invention relates to an encoder and a decoder for implementing the described encoding and decoding methods, respectively.
