Abstract  Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disclose a method for transmitting channel quality information based on a differential scheme.

SOLUTION: When channel quality information for a predetermined number of sub-bands selected by a receiver in a frequency selective channel is transmitted total average channel information is transmitted. The channel information for the selected predetermined number of sub-bands is transmitted as sub-band differential information associated with average channel information. In this case the sub-band differential information can be denoted by a specific value within a difference-value range having only positive values. When two or more pieces of channel quality information are transmitted by a multiple antenna system channel quality information for one channel is transmitted and the channel quality information for the other channel is transmitted as spatial differential information. Here the spatial differential information is transmitted as a specific value within a difference-value range set so as to have a range which is asymmetric about 0 as a center.
