Abstract
Following transmission of a data packet, the transmitter (1) repeats packets to the receiver (2) as requested. Bit rate adaptation is undertaken before transmission. A matching pattern calculates parameter(s) signaled between transmitter and receiver, differentiating self-decoding and non self-decoding data packets. In at least one of these cases, differing bit rate adaptation patterns are signaled. An independent claim is included for corresponding equipment.
