Abstract  Abstract

The present invention provides a method of reducing the interface load of a home subscriber server (HSS). After receiving a request message from the Serving Call Session Control Function (S-CSCF) containing a request for storing the name of the S-CSCF and downloading the users subscription information, the home subscriber server (HSS) first checks the message in the request message. After storing the name of the S-CSCF, a response message including the subscription information of the user is returned to the S-CSCF. The invention simplifies the steps of inquiring about the users subscription information, optimizes the service procedure, and reduces the interface load of the home subscriber server (HSS). In addition, upon receiving the query message from the I-CSCF, the home subscriber server (HSS) includes a set of S-CSCF capability information with the capability of meeting the S-CSCF name and the most stringent service requirements of the user equipment (UE). A response message to the I-CSCF is directly returned to further reduce the interface load of the home subscriber server (HSS). The present invention does not affect the existing network architecture and service execution, and there is no need to modify the existing interface specification, so the compatibility and scalability is very high.
