Abstract  Abstract

A method of generating a codebook and a method and apparatus for data transmission are provided. The method includes receiving a label of a codeword in a codebook for an 8-antenna transmitted by a user equipment (UE); Searching for the codeword identified by the label in the 8-antenna codebook; Coding the data to be transmitted using the codeword; And transmitting the coded data. The 8-antenna codebook includes at least one rank-8 codeword for 8-antenna, wherein the 8-antenna rank-8 codeword is a 4-antenna rank-4 in an inverse of the rotation matrix for 8-antenna. Obtained by multiplying the 8-dimensional matrix formed by the codeword, or by extending the rank-4 codeword for 8-antenna. Therefore, the codewords in the 8-antenna codebook are applicable to scenarios including double-polarized strong correlation, double-deviated weak correlation, single-polarized strong correlation, and single-polarized weak correlation.
